Sagrada Familia and Barca

On Sunday we woke up to rain, our only weather issue of the week. We had to switch hotels to the one I would be staying in for the rest of the week for work. With a taxi strike and Uber not in service we had no choice but to walk in the rain. Luckily it was only about 15 min. We checked in and then took the metro to Sagrada Familia to finally get a look at the inside. In the evening we met with 6 of my co-workers to see FC Barcelona and the great Messi play futbol(soccer)

We started the audio tour on the Nativity side- praising faith, charity and hope and featuring Mary, Joseph and young Jesus. Sagrada Familia- means Holy Family
We see the inside! I have never seen any church like it. One of the most beautiful structures I have ever been in. The inside is meant to seem like you are in a forest.
The stained glass was exquisite and the light followed you everywhere
The audio tour ended on the Passion side, which Gaudi never got to see. They hope to finish the project in 2026 which is 100 years after Gaudi’s death
We ended our amazing trip at Camp Nou. 100,000 seat soccer stadium of the world renowned FC Barcelona. Score: Barcelona 3 Leganes(another Spanish team) 1. With the incredible Messi scoring the last goal. A fantastic experience

We got back to the hotel at 11 pm and Matt had to get up at 3:30am bus to get the airport. He’s in the air to Minneapolis as I write this. I will be in Barcelona for a couple more days, but mostly stuck in meeting rooms:( So glad we took the time to explore the city.
